You can co-own a boat with someone else. It means that you will own a certain percentage of the boat and agree to share expenses and boat maintenance with one or more people.
There are three possible scenarios:
- owners who wish to co-own their boat
- some are selling shares in an existing co-owned boat
- some crew members are looking to acquire a jointly-owned boat.
Coboaters allow you to publish notices to co-own boats.
1. How do I publish a notice to become a boat co-owner?
You will follow similar steps to publish a notice to co-own a boat than for other notices.
Go to PUBLISH/ A Notice
Choose the type of notice "I am looking to sale or co-own a boat".
IMPORTANT NOTE: CREATE A BOAT PROFILE
If you have a co-ownership project on a boat that does not yet exist or is not precisely defined, you will be asked to create a "fake" boat listing. You can specify the boat's minimum characteristics and requirements. You don't need to go into detail.
For the "Name", "Make" and "Model" criteria, you can enter fictitious information.
You can for example define the type of boat you are looking for. In this example, the name of the boat is "My future co-ownership"
You will follow the other steps to finalize your notice. You do not need to enter all the details because you are probably looking for a certain type of boat rather than a specific model.
Our advice is to use the Summary section to explain what you are looking got. Please see the example of a summary to look for boat co-ownership.
Once done and moderated your notice will be available to all members and website visitors with the same rules as other notices.
2. How do I search for a co-ownership proposal from another member?
Here's how to use the search engine to access notices for co-ownership of boats. Use the same search tool and select Sale of co-ownership of a boat and click on Search to access all current notices.
